Emily Stewart was born and raised in the mountains of New Mexico.  She vividly remembers, at a very young age,  creating abstract colored chalk designs on a child-sized chalk board wiping away the organic design as soon as it was finished, only to begin again immediately.  Emily attributes her love for artistic skill to her mother who taught her to color in the lines before she was old enough to attend school.

Working as a junior high art instructor for three years pushed Emily to grow technically and creatively.  For her, creating art is not simply a way of making money, but rather a fulfillment of her divine purpose on this earth.  She loves art because "it is about people, it is about life."

Emily has been blessed to travel to Europe, Africa, and soon South America.  Experiences from her travels continue to redefine her world view, thus influencing her art.

When she is not traveling, Emily works in a rural farm community in central Texas, where she lives with her John-Wayne-like grandfather called Peepaw.  She loves the costal hay fields that surround the farm house, the calm quiet of the country, and her dog Beau.

"Even the sparrow has found a home,

and the swallow a nest for herself,

where she may have her young—

       a place near your altar,

O LORD Almighty, my King and my God."

 Psalm 84:3
