Ok, I’ll admit it. When I first moved to Dallas I was not a fan of the place at all. However, my affinity for it grew, perhaps out of familiarity, or perhaps out of small discoveries I made along the way that set Dallas apart from other cities. One of those discoveries was La Reunion. The mission of La Reunion is “to create an arts residency in Dallas that inspires, sustains, and renews artists and community through education and outreach.” Love it. Love it. Love it.
Next month I will be participating in Art Chicas Unidas sponsored by La Reunion. On November 7th I, and three other female artists, will work with groups of 3-4 high school girls to create artworks on site at the La Reunion property located in Oak Cliff. The following Saturday, November 14th, there will be a reception to display the final pieces from 2-4pm. Everyone is invited to join in the festivities
